Shouldn't the US have at least lifted the sanction before asking for a meeting? Or maybe the US doesn’t actually mind breaching the sanctions it had imposed?

LOL! That is best of Ms Hua - She put the Yanks on the spot by asking why James Austin wanna break his gov own law which sanctioned the Chinese defense Minister Li since 2018 ? 5 years later, the Americans complain they cannot get to met Li in SG.
