I'm pleasantly surprised by the quality of the phone. Try it before you condemn it.

I heard the Motorola is back with some great phones in Edge series.

Nokia has a few phones with very good cameras.

Wait for product announcement on 15 Dec. They usually launch in China before deciding to go global or not. They also lower the specs on especially their chargers when selling outside of China.

Oppo innovation day on 14 Dec, now oppo flip phone looks promising.

Not sure about phones but their laptop is cheap. At least the one I bought. In Feb 2021, I was looking to buy a laptop and was checking out Asus, Dell, HP, Acer (my earlier three which served me well and is best bang for the buck when I bought them) and even Lenovo (which I don't like). The salesman introduced me to a Huawei laptop. I was surprised as I did not know they have laptops. Slightly cheaper but with better specs.

Bought it and it's definitely great laptop for the price. So far so good.

You need to check the spec and component inside.
Laptop is cheap, definitely somewhere cut corner.

Laptop which is more expensive, normally the component can be removed easily without desoldering.

Never buy Macbk Air without cpu fan.
Most garbage laptop.

I don't think they cut corner because so far the laptop is great. I think they cut price at that time because US is putting a lot of pressure on Huawei.

Usually any smartphone maker will stop producing batteries for old models so those with MI logos are usually fake. So I bought OEM blue-white color battery for my mi max forgot what brand, fits perfectly and works like new.

The China 2nd tier phone makers are quite interesting in terms of value for $$

Examples are Blackview, Dongee, Ulephone, etc.

Making phones will become like making iron and kettle...commoditise because the technology will saturate.
