Our politicians are more intelligent than their counterparts in Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines etc. who risk imprisonment by stealing public funds. Our leaders merely decide each other's obscene wages to legalise such payments.

Good people must be paid well.
But compare to OCBC and DBS CEO,
It's peanuts. They are getting 11 millions
He is the Minister of Finance, anytime they take him, it's 5 times what he is getting.

In Singapore, Minister and MP is a Salary Job.
In many countries, especially our neighbours, Minister, MP, President, Congressman and Senator is a profiteering business.
That should be clear to everyone. 🤭

You are saying that it is far safer for our politicians to decide each other's pay than to steal public funds like their counterparts in Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Myanmar etc.

The voters decide, not me or you alone..😉
It is always preferable to conduct audits in a transparent manner for incomes, rather than concealing information in closed book.
Stealing can run into billions, making salary a peanut.

IMHO
running a country is never same with running a business
business aim is to make as much money as possible. that's why u can pay millions to the CEO
running a country is not only about economy...... imagine there is so many CEOs in the cabinet.... wow...
