Singapore:a wealthy nation with suffering citizens

Load of craps. Existence in this realm of samsara is suffering wether poor or wealthy. This is the First Noble Truth of Buddha called dukha in Pali. Death, departure of love ones, aging, dying and decaying are great inescapable sufferings.    Rolleyes

Thinking is difficult, that's why most people judge

Death is the ultimate statistic: 1 in 1 will eventually die.

It's a perfect example of robbing the poor to pay the rich.

S'poreans must ask ourselves why our country is ranked 4th in the world for Crony Capitalism. Our leaders enjoy close family and personal ties with billionaires here. Even though S'pore is a wealthy country, the money is not flowing down to the masses.

Let's put things in perspective and it will go down easier... If one looks at Singapore as an ant colony, then everything works just fine and we are the number one ant colony, period.

Why the unhappiness? Because unhappy ones are not convinced why they should be ant soldiers. Instead, each want to be the queen and king to be served instead of serving.

So start accepting wholeheartedly that Singapore is an ant colony. If you are born as an elite, Princeton etc, you play that role. If you are born as a footsoldier, live life fullness by dovoting your being for the greater good of the colony, period.

Everybody in the ant colony wants to live in a house or condo and drive a car. That is why most of the ants are unhappy.

Poor?  Look at the dogs here.
Some live a better life than humans.
One vet visit cost hundreds.
Go Ghim MOH wet market in the morning. Can see maids walking the dogs.

You are referring to the maids of residents living in the nearby landed properties and condos at Mount Sinai, Holland Grove Rd, Henry Park, Pandan Valley, Jalan Jelita etc. Residents of the HDB flats at Ghim Moh are the long suffering hoi polloi.

The hoi polloi are "buying hope" to get out of the HDB heartlands.

There is life in HDB heartlands.
People come. People go. Cheap cheap stuff at market. Endless choice of clothing's, bags.food, fruits....
Landed so quiet. Only see maids cleaning the house.
I love my heartland.

If live in Spore for basic living, I think no problem at all. But if want to talk about quality living then better go elsewhere.

I'm definitely going to retire in another country.
