In western countries they debate a lot but do very little…for example, to build new airport they will debate in parliament for 10 years before reaching some kind of agreement among parties, then it takes another 10 years to get funding and finally it takes 20 years to build the airport. The typical example is the new airport in Berlin, it has taken nearly 2 decades to build while China completed one of the world’s largest airports in Beijing in less than 5 years. China walks the talk while western countries talk the walk.

Sure democracy has many problems ....but there are examples of many well managed democracies.

I am talking about efficiency, the current model of democracy doesn’t work, major parties dominate the politics, when both major parties are lousy, people have no choice but to vote in the lousy leaders. Democracy means each and every decision must be debated and agreed by majority in parliament, there are 100+ parties in India, the debate goes on for years and years, no agreement will be reached, how to progress fast? How to get things done quickly?

You have touched a good point about efficiency. Much like our “democracy” where one party system has the majority says which brought us to decide and developed our country into where we are today. Of course there are the downsides, much like many other western world too.
Back then many western democratic world tend to coin us more socialist or dictatorship than democratic. How else can we get to be a developed world within one generation where many western world took longer if not more.
And now take a look at China, though they may be considered a developing world but many of their first tier cities their citizen’s wealth are growing too. Just my opinion.

Honestly speaking, in my opinion. Taiwan democracy has resulted their state to be in a mess now. They were better developed before Lee TengHui took office. Ever since Lee TH took over, he has messed with the democracy that brought to todays chaotic state.
As for Philippines, many of their people are still living under poverty. Therefore their people are still trying to survive with their poverty. Democracy does not work for them, they will need Singapore hard handed ways to bring discipline into everyone of them. Just like we have experienced long ago.
While India, maybe you’re being kind. Their progress are merely for those rich and powerful, in the whole. I don’t think they have progress much but more about lying all the way up to the next level. Above are just my opinion with my limited knowledge of both Philippines and India.
