Kyiv’s operations, Natalia Humeniuk, spokes person for southern military said. “We r aware the bad weather conditions is complicated. This not only complicates a physical advance but also aerial reconnaissance. Because there is a thunderstorm warning,” she said in televised.

Military river crossing operations are notoriously difficult to plan and execute. They are one most difficult forms of combined arms manoeuvre b'cos of challenges posed by river currents, the availability of bridging, and enemy action designed to interfere with crossing activities.

Oct 2023, Ukrainians executed river crossings on three different locations in Kherson & able to gain small foothold at each location. Since then, Ukrainian forces have been working linking up these three bridgeheads in Russian-occupied Kherson, while also advancing east to clear Russian artillery so that it cannot fire on the Ukrainian river crossing sites.
