The Kremlin's international prestige has also suffered a heavy blow. The implications of Assad's overthrow for Ukraine are less certain.

3 Ukrainian Soldiers Assisted By An M-2 Bradley Made 15 Russians ‘Cease To Exist’ the skirmish around Pokrovsk was a classic combined-arms action. The 425th Assault Battalion is one of just six Ukrainian battalions to receive American-made M-2 Bradley infantry fighting vehicles—31 of them if the battalion adheres to the standard Ukrainian force structure.

The 400-person battalion is putting the 33-ton, 10-person IFVs to good use as part of the Ukrainians’ spirited defense of Pokrovsk, the city in eastern Ukraine’s Donetsk Oblast that is the locus of Russia’s yearlong offensive in the east, in a furious infantry action somewhere along the approaches to Pokrovsk on or shortly before Monday, a team of 425th Assault Battalion troopers, backed up by mortars and drones—and a single fast-reacting Bradley—defeated a Russian force five times its size.

Two-part firefight began, three 425th Assault Battalion soldiers, who’d apparently been dropped off by an M-2 performing its primary role as a “battle taxi,” spotted three Russian soldiers approaching along a road. Ukrainians saw the Russians. They didn’t see Ukrainians. “These 3 do not suspect anything,” a 425th Assault Battalion soldier narrated in a video helpfully translated by Estonian analyst WarTranslated.

The Ukrainians “came out and controlled the situation with a grenade,” the narrator quipped. A few well-aimed rifle rounds ended the ambush. Two Russians lay dead. A third “decided he’d had enough” and crawled toward the Ukrainians to surrender. That’s when an even, three-on-three fight turned lopsided for the 425th Assault Battalion. The information about the liquidation of this Russian official was confirmed to RBC-Ukraine by sources in the Ukrainian Defense Forces. The interlocutors also said that it was a Defense Intelligence of Ukraine's operation.

North Korean troops open fire on Russian unit, Ukraine's military intelligence said lNorth Korean troops fighting alongside Russian forces in Kursk Oblast killed eight members of a Russian unit in a "friendly fire" attack, Ukraine's military intelligence agency (HUR) claimed on Dec. 14.

Earlier in the day, Zelensky reported that a "significant number" of North Korean troops had joined Russian assault op in the Kursk region. 
While engaged in combat in Kursk Oblast, a group of North Korean soldiers opened fire on members of the Chechen Akhmat unit fighting for Russia, HUR reported via its official Telegram channel. The attack allegedly killed eight Russian soldiers.

HUR said incident result language barrier between Russian & North Korean troops, continues to be a "difficult obstacle" on the battlefield. An estimated 200 servicemembers fighting with Russian and North Korean units have been killed as of Dec. 14, HUR claimed. Zelensky previously announced that North Korean personnel had begun incurring "noticeable losses," but did not provide a figure. 

Ukrainian and Western officials warned that over 10,000 North Korean troops had amassed in Kursk Oblast, Russian military has instituted special protocols in places where North Korean personnel are located, HUR said. But Russian soldiers  must undergo inspections before entering these areas, but their phones and electronic devices are not confiscated. This is first direct clashes between North Korean & Ukrainian troops in Kursk Oblast were reported in early Nov. North Korean troops personnel have not been deployed to any other areas front have change in near future.

Suspect also rented a car to monitor the location and set up a camera that livestreamed footage “to the attack organisers, in the [Ukrainian] city of Dnipro. Once Kirillov was seen leaving the building, the suspect detonated the bomb.

Who was Kirillov?
Kirillov is the most senior Russian military officer to be assassinated inside Russia by Ukraine. His murder is likely to prompt the Russian authorities to review security protocols for army’s top brass.
