With clock ticking, Harris, 60, spent Sunday in must-win Michigan where she risks losing the support of a 200,000-strong Arab-American community that has denounced US handling of the Israel-Hamas war.“ As president, I will do everything in my power to end the war in Gaza,” Harris said at the start of her speech, noting that there were leaders of the community at her rally. “I want to say this year has been difficult, given the scale of death and destruction in Gaza, given the civilian casualties and displacement in Lebanon. It is devastating.”

Kremlin Faces Civil War: Russian General Arrested on Putin's Order!Russian Army on Brink of Uprising

Russia's internal turmoil as another high-ranking general, Mirza Mirzaev, faces arrest for corruption. This follows a pattern of recent charges against Russian officers accused of demanding bribes and misusing funds intended for military operations. Despite the Kremlin’s public anti-corruption campaign, critics argue that these arrests aim to maintain control rather than genuinely combat corruption. The Russian military's credibility suffers as it increasingly appears plagued by dishonesty and mismanagement, which undermines its effectiveness against Ukraine.

Biden admin to allow U.S.A. military contractors to deploy in Ukraine. Fri November 8, 2024
CNN — Biden has lifted a de facto ban on U S.A. military contractors deploying to Ukraine to help country’s military maintain & repair US-provided weapons systems, particularly F16 fighter jets & Patriot air defense systems, an official with direct knowledge of the plan told CNN. The new policy, approved earlier this mth be4 the election, would allow Pentagon to provide contracts to American companies for work inside Ukraine for the first time since Russia invaded in 2022. Officials said they hope it will speed up the maintenance and repairs of weapons systems being used by the Ukrainian military. Its not clear whether Trump will keep the policy in place when he takes office in Jan. Trump has said he hopes to end war between Ukraine & Russia “within 24 hours” of returning to power.
“In order to help Ukraine repair, maintain military equipment provided by US its allies, DoD (Dept of Defense) is soliciting bids for a small number of contractors who will help Ukraine maintain the assistance we’ve already provided,” official said.
“These contractors will be located far from the front lines and they will not be fighting Russian forces. They will help Ukrainian Armed Forces rapidly repair and maintain US provided equipment as needed so it can be quickly returned to the front lines.”
Official confirmed US is moving forward with the plan b'cos several of systems US has provided Ukraine, particularly F-16s & Patriots, “require specific technical expertise to maintain.”

That’s enough equipment for 3-Russian battalions. it’s only what’s “visible confirmed with video,” according to Kriegsforscher. Actual Russian losses could be much higher. On Tuesday, the Ukrainian staff reported record single-day Russian losses of 1,950 troops killed & wounded as well as 104 destroyed armored vehicles all along 800-mile front line of Russia’s wider war on Ukraine.
The ongoing battle in Kursk accounts for a disproportionate share of these losses, as the fighting there is at least twice as intense as the fighting in other sectors, according to Ukrainian Center for Defense Strategies. “Russian forces maintain a high attack frequency in Kursk Oblast, launching assaults at intervals of 10 to 15 minutes,” CDS noted.

New French Mirage fighter jets could help Ukraine skirt one biggest roadblocks for F-16 program. Ukraine is getting its 2nd Western jet type as France plans to send Mirages.
France has also said it will train Ukrainian pilots.
That's a big benefit, warfare experts say, as the F-16 training program keeps being delayed.

Biden is sending aid to Ukraine keep fighting next year.
KYIV, Ukraine (AP) — The Biden administration is determined in its final months to help ensure that Ukraine can keep fighting off Russia’s full-scale invasion next year, sending it as much aid as possible so that it might hold Russian forces at bay and possess a strong hand in any potential peace negotiations, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken said Wednesday. President Biden has committed to making sure that every dollar we have at our disposal will be pushed out between now and Jan. 20,” when President-elect Donald Trump is due to be sworn in, Blinken said.
NATO countries must focus their efforts on “ensuring that Ukraine has the money, munitions and mobilized forces to fight effectively in 2025, or to be able to negotiate a peace from a position of strength,” Blinken said during a visit to Brussels. U.S. will “adapt and adjust” with the latest equipment it is sending, Blinken said, without providing details. The almost three-year war has shown no signs of winding down. Russia attacked Ukrainian capital Kyiv w/sophisticated combination of missiles & drones for first time in 73 days on Wednesday. That came a day after the State Dept said most of North Korean troops sent to help Moscow’s war effort are fighting to drive Ukraine’s army off Russian soil in the Kursk border region.

Scholz condemns war, urges Russia to negotiate with Ukraine, a first call with Putin in nearly 2 years. Russia meet Germany. Vladimir Putin & German Chancellor Olaf Scholz takes part in a meeting on labor issues in Berlin, Germany on Sept. 30, 2024. President Putin & German Chancellor Olaf Scholz spoke by phone on Nov. 15, their first direct call in nearly two years, according to a German govt statement.
Earlier in day, Bloomberg reported Putin & Scholz were scheduled to speak, though it did't specify time or topics of discussion. Call unannounced by either Moscow or Berlin, lasted about an hour, Reuters reported.
During the conversation, Scholz condemned Russia's war against Ukraine, calling on Putin to end it and withdraw Russian troops from Ukrainian territory. He also urged Russia to negotiate with Ukraine to achieve a "just and lasting peace." "Germany has unwavering determination to support Ukraine in its defensive struggle against Russian aggression for as long as necessary," German govt's statement read.

Today, 47th Mechanized Brigade’s battalions—operating American-made M-2 Bradley fighting vehicles and M-1 Abrams tanks—no longer have luxury of mucking around in Novyi Put. They’re in fight of their lives on left flank of Kursk salient, trying to hold back a powerful Russian counter offensive kicked off - Nov. 7. Taking advantage of post-election tumult in the US & seemingly anticipating major changes in the U.S. relationship with Ukraine, Russia is going for broke in Kursk. Kremlin reinforced its 51st Airborne Regiment & 810th Marine Brigade—the latter with thousands of North Korean troops—then hurled units at Ukrainian positions.
Reconsolidated 47th Mechanized Brigade, its people and vehicles no longer scattered across a wide front western Russia, directly in Russians’ crosshairs in Kursk. On Tuesday, 30 Russian vehicles barreled toward 47th Mechanized Brigade in 5 waves. Ukrainians fought back with mines, drones & Stugna-P anti-tank missiles, destroying 10 of Russian vehicles. Survivors scattered & blundered into sectors held by other Ukrainian units, potentially including recently reorganized 17th Heavy Mechanized Brigade. The adjacent brigades “worked on” the 20 survivors,
- The 47th Mechanized Brigade said despities suffering record.
- Casualty, including nearly 2,000 troops killed & wounded on Tuesday—it show no signs of stopping.
Russian Putin had given his forces until Oct. 1 to retake Kursk—a deadline they obviously missed. New deadline, it seems, is U.S. President-elect Donald Trump’s January inauguration.

Germany, China expected to discuss war in Ukraine, North Korean troops next week.
Pentagon confirmed on Nov. 13 that North Korean soldiers had begun engaging in combat alongside Russian troops in Kursk Oblast. The announcement followed reports that Russia is mustering a force of 50,000 soldiers, including North Korean troops.
The discussions come at a difficult time for Ukraine, as Russia holds the upper hand on the battlefield, and Trump's imminent return to the White House may lead to a decreased U.S. involvement in the war. Kyiv's European partners are increasingly preparing for a deal include Ukraine giving up on some of its territories in return for security guarantees, Washington Post reported on Nov. 13, citing interviews with 10 current and former Western officials.
