Supermart house brands are getting popular. Why are they cheaper than other brands?

What sourcing, lah?
How many suppliers make wanton out there yet tastes like CP
Must be NTUC sign a contract with them to want their share
and just reduce their own shelve rental cost
to make it cheaper, lah

As supermarkets’ house brands evolve and expand, if the result is a wider range to choose from, “it’s still a win for us”, she said.
As long as good options,it's worth supporting.

I have been buying/using this Onwards kitchen towel for almost 2 decades.
The "Fairprice" name suddenly appeared on the packaging about 5-6 years ago.
So I believe not this is not just a contract, but more likely a bought over by NTUC when an item sells well.

Onwards in Malaysia does not have NTUC Brand printed on it
I doubt those sold in Giant has that brand on it, too
Only for NTUC so-called their House Brand
So unlikely they buy Onwards Toilet Paper Company
