Trump and the White House shared a series of charts on social media detailing the tariff rates *they say* 🤣 other countries impose on the U.S. Those *purported rates*  🤣include the countries’ “Currency Manipulation and Trade Barriers.”

*Purported* meaning : appearing or stated to be true, though *not necessarily so* ; alleged. 🤪

Chinese imports will be hit with a 34 per cent tariff, on top of the 20 per cent levy that he previously imposed on the country, bringing the total new levy to 54 per cent.

In 2024, ASEAN was China's most important trading partner, with a 15.9 percent share in total imports and exports. The trade value between these two trading blocks amounted to 6.99 trillion yuan. Meanwhile, the United States's share in China's foreign trade remained at 11.2 percent.

Simple logic.

Cost of goods will shoot up.
Government become richer because of taxes.
Companies will suffer in P&L.
Worker will suffer because of retrenchment and higher living cost.

Productivity will drop because of protectionism factors.
Supply chain becoming costly.
Goods manufactured base on nationality rather than efficiencies.

Thanks to DT...🤣
