IMO it is not the two party system that is disastrous, I think the democratic system by itself is disastrous where any Tom Dick or Harry can represent a party and voters are subjected to and influenced by strong propaganda.   That's how US can ended up with one half dead  old man and a mad man as candidates. : Rolleyes
