"PETALING JAYA: There has been a surge in the number of Malaysians looking to work in Singapore, and this has raised concerns about the economic implications it will have for Malaysia.

The number of Malaysians who applied for jobs in the island republic rose 62% in the first quarter of 2024 compared with the same period in 2023."

This is outrageous. Our country already so cramped up. So many foreign workers are encroaching into our space. Really cannot breathe.

Because the non-bummi cannot work in their lucrative easy life and lazy civil serpant work, many of these non-bummi have to come down to work in good paying Sg jobs.

Actually Both SG and MY benefits from one another but who benefit more ?

For Malaysian coming to SG work or stay ...

- Obviously they earn more due to SIN dollars but they also need to spend here just like us as long you stay here in SG. Unless these Malaysian after work straight go back MY. ( Quite a lot Malaysian actually rent rooms, or whole apartment at JB side for those stay in other states ) Partly because if they stay further up is not wise to work in SG and daily travel back. Time consume for travel even longer . One thing when the train complete maybe they will not rent those apartments or rooms at JB )

- IF they got PR status in SG , can go resale HDB flat . Either rent the rooms to their fellow Malaysian or later sell off High at resale market just like locals. One thing they can withdraw all money back to MY. Even they sell at some losses they still benefit from Strong SIN dollars.

In fact not just Malaysia. I noticed a lot Pinoy got PR status own HDB resale flat they rent the rooms to their fellow Pinoys.

For Singaporean go MY

- Obviously we can get cheaper daily needs from JB even they increase their selling price still cheaper than in SG. But most people who always go in usually stay near JB aka those stay at Woodlands, Jurong side. I do have one class mate way back 90s , he always go in JB buy daily needs for his family. Like Milo , milk , etc. For self consume you are legit to bring in to SG.

- As usual property, Some Singaporean buy condo at JB rent out to Malaysian who happen work in SG yet want to daily travel back to MY for some. Whereas other buy just park there so call investment as usual. Or when they happen travel to JB , go their condo stay instead stay in hotel.

I compare here and there. I don't know who benefit more as a Country , Singapore or malaysia?

partly Malaysian come SG work , it does boast our GDP , occupy those jobs not say a lot local wanna be like Hawker now a days....
quite a lot Malaysian doing some are boss even own various hawker stall in SG. Now even Vietnamese also into it beside Thai or even foreigner Indian. I also saw Pinoy too as hawker selling their own local foods and a lot fellow Pinoy buying. Beside PRC also into hawker . Whereas Locals slowly decreasing even so call there are young local hawkers or some take over their parents hawker business . Competition is indeed tough now a days

Whereas come Malaysia , they benefit is We spend quite a lot there also invest property there.
