This is how many products are sold, even with Seng Siong and Giant........it is the same.  It is sales strategy....

NTUC will be starting every Friday 5% discounts.

My mum said tuesday, wednesday . . .NTUC also got their old folks discount of 2% or 3%?

But the price of NTUC food stuff more expensive by more than 5%. So, it is still not worth it to go there.

Ntuc fairprice is not really fair. The fruits are so expensive. I buy only when there is offer.

The fcking PAP set 7% and then give 5% discount for SOME items.

At the end, we still must pay 2% EXTRA.

They are the wholesalers, and they used to be a co-operative, which enjoy little corporate taxes.  They had become a household name, and only being compete with Giant and Seng Siong........

I like this King Oscar bristling sardines from Norway.
NTUC is selling it for $4.90 (all varieties).
I was quite surprised when I saw its pricing was cheaper when I was in a Bangkok supermart a few years ago as imported goods are usually more expensive in Thailand.

Online pricing now:
NTUC - $4.90
https://www.fairprice.com.sg/product/kin...g-11495707

Thailand - S$4.55 (THB 109)

New Zealand - S$3.15 (NZ$3.50 and NZ is even further from Norway than Spore)
