Israel says they have killed a senior leader in Hamas' commando forces, Ali Qadhi, who planned the October 7 attack that massacred 1,300 Israelis. Abu Merad, who was the head of Hamas' air forces, was also killed, according to the Israeli military.
The Israel Defense Forces say its infantry forces and tanks entered the Gaza Strip on Friday to conduct localized raids.
"Ali Qadi led the inhumane, barbaric October 7 massacre of civilians in Israel," Israel Defense Forces said. "We just eliminated him. All Hamas terrorists will meet the same fate."
Israeli Defense Force ordered more than a million residents in Northern Gaza to evacuate ahead of a possible ground invasion to stop Hamas.

Israeli should know for so many years Hamas and even Hezbollah replace their top commanders very soon as they expected them to die fast. Their succession planning is always in place.

We will come from the ground’: Israel’s goals in a ground invasion of Gaza
As an invasion appears imminent, Israel has several reasons – even if lofty – for carrying out such an offensive.

Wednesday, Israeli land forces were moving towards the border with Gaza, amassing hardware and forces. “We started the offensive from the air. Later on, we will also come from the ground,” Defence Minister Yoav Gallant told Israeli troops this week near Gaza.

Israel also called up 350,000 reservists who, when they all report for duty, will triple the size of Israel’s fighting force.

“Israel’s goal for a ground invasion is to destroy Hamas infrastructure and eliminate altogether [its] military capabilities to [ever again] launch anything that we saw on Saturday,” Yossi Mekelberg, an expert on Israel at the Chatham House think tank, told Al Jazeera.

But targeting Hamas’s military capabilities would not be enough for Israel, which would want to stamp out Hamas’s ability to govern Gaza ever again, according to Nimrod Goren, senior fellow for Israeli affairs at the Middle East Institute.

Israel will aspire to “change the equation and to reshuffle the dynamics in a way that Hamas would not be again in a position to govern”, Goren told Al Jazeera.

Israel should know even if you take out Hamas a new militant party will rise again soon. Their members could just be made up of the civilian that kena Gaza bombing for past few days. Anguish turn to despair turn to anger turn to hatred and they take up arms to revenge. The cycle will never end with Israel style. Eye for an eye.

What could be the consequences of the “Al-Aqsa Flood” operation for Iraq, a country controlled by Iran, particularly if the conflict escalates? Five experts on the region answer this question.

Dr Sardar Aziz --- There are a number of developments in the region that will be directly impacted by the “Al-Aqsa Flood” operation. First, the apparent quietness in the Middle East, including in Iraq, which US has been wanting to maintain in order to keep regiog@periphery, has now ended. Although US rather not have Middle East back in the focus of the media, the Iran-backed militias in Iraq have shown strong support Hamas operation. how US will handle situation, given existing priorities, including China, Ukraine and a difficult domestic situation.

A consequence for wider war in the region, depend on relation between US and Iran, as USA decide to fully support Israel against Hamas and Hezbollah. Iraqi pro-Iranian groups might pressure US in Iraq, even if for now, Hezbollah has limited its escalation.
A possible failure of Saudi-Israeli-USA deal was in its final stage. Saudis have been cautious regarding the steps Gulf countries venture. If Saudi Arabia’s relationship with Iran deteriorates, it will directly impact its relationship with middle east.

All these consequences also depend on decisive factors, such as the scale of the retaliation Israel will inflict on Gaza Hamas, how long it will last.

Whenever a peace deal is coming up.
Then a terrorist attack will surface. All goes back to square one.

See the pattern. It is not about the peoples and lands. It is all about individual's ruling power.

in long distance. who ever missile can reach further and more missile in number has upper hand to bomb enemy happy happy.
when nearer, artillery is the king.
even nearer. mortar. tank gun is the winner.
but all these not much damaged if enemy is like a rat. they go under ground and hide. bomb till you happy. only damage ground buildings. enemy not hurt at all.
then no choice go to move troops in for ground battle.
when a few km to a few 10s of m the tank is most powerful. shoot and shoot like no body business.
when come near enough. anti tank weapon is a real risk. now cheap drone loaded with powerful pay load.
if come very near , enemy can even jump or come near and attached bomb on tank.
infantry become very important to protect. but infantry versys infantry. number counts. firepower? 1 granite can kill many, many.
if go into tunnel then all weapon quite useless. as powerful as us army in vietnam war , they use all kind of tactics also non use. to go inside tunnel is very high risk for infantry. and number is not on their side.

so how to say sure win. for long term peace still best to find a middle ground solutions and have peace.
else there will be on off sudden attack. forever no peace. to terminate is not possible at all. attack they hide or disperse. quiet already they come back. like rats. can kill cannot terminate.

The root cause is Jews setting up Israel in Palestinian soil in 1947. If they go somewhere else middle east will be a peaceful place.

You really talk cock….. the land does not belong to the Arabs alone, many came, or settled or/and gone…. And Palestine is not even a race….. it’s just like saying Australia does not belong to the White Australians alone, NZ does not belong to the white New Zealendars, America does not belong to the Whites or Negros even, Taiwan does not belong to the Chinese, the Chinese got no right to be in Tibet or Mongolia….. And if the Chinese and Indians had not come to Malaya , there would never be constant potential racial tensions…… And if you think the Islamic Fundamentalist Arabs are Angels….

Ask yourself this…..

Who are the bastards who started suicide bombing (and put innocent women and children at risks)?
Who are the bastards who started car bombings (and put innocent women and children at risks)?
Who are the bastards who started plane hijacking (and resulted in the inconvenient airport checking up to this very day)?
Who are the bastards who invented parcel bombing (and put the innocent people at risks)?
Who are the bastards who kidnapped innocent civilians and used them as hostages?

Brave martyrs are those who go direct into their enemies territory and attack their army facilities and kill their top military personnel …. They don’t do coward things and hide behind their women and children ……

CHAOS & Cityhantam are 2 sick CCP mother-fcuker bastards, who support Islamic radical Simplemen, aka Imran, who has been belittling Chinese, juz because their mothers like farking Hamas dogs

Exactly! All efforts are wasted . This has been happening since Yasser Arafat times. Hamas never want peace.  When peace talk are in progress they fire missiles into Israel.Hamas only want annihilation of Israel, nothing less.  Israel has no choice but to hit back with force to destroy the attackers.
