The writer, 刘梦熊, blames China for not supporting Ukraine. He named Russia as aggressor.
Then,
1. Why he never blames US for stirring up the war in Ukraine and never support any peace effort?
2. Why he never blames NATO and US for shifting military bases nearer and nearer to Moscow?
3. Why he never blames US for invading Afghanistan for 20 years?
4. Why he never blames US for invading other Mid-East countries like Syria, Libya and Iraq etc?

I can't read the entire article as I have no Zaobao subscription, but a few comments just based on the truncated one:
1) The writer never establishes how opening up and economic reforms have anything to do with this so called "siding with Russia". All he did was just declare this is equivalent to China reversing all its reformation achievements to date without even bothering to explain any logic, much less present evidence.
2) Anyone who goes around harping over deviations from what Deng Xiaoping said is basically declaring that the world does not change and no matter what the circumstances everyone should follow what a past leader say. This is the same idiotic thing that Hua Guofeng did when he came up with the "Two Whatevers" policy in which any deviation from what previous leader Mao preached was considered bad. Ironically it was Deng who told the CCP leaders to start thinking for themselves according to the facts and stop the mindless Mao blabbering. Comical to see 50 years later we have the same idiot who tells everyone that we should do whatever Deng says and that's that.
3) His insistence that China's good relations with Russia is equivalent to a declaration of war with the "west" is not coherent with the facts on the ground. Many major European powers such as France, Germany and Spain have reservations, but are also cautiously optimistic there could be room to move towards peace if China's peace plan can be implemented. In fact, even Zelenskyy has indicated he would like China to get involved in finding a settlement going forward. Does this sound like a "declaration of war" with the west? Has this idiot been living in a cave for the past few months?
4) This is another one of those "China's neutrality is fake" derangement syndrome commonly seen in both pro-US and pro-China supporters. The problem though is so far nothing suggests China is deviating from its neutrality. It continues to maintain good political and economical relations with both Russia and Ukraine. Putin did a brother brother thing with Xi recently, Zelenskyy told the French he is not interested in any peace meeting without Biden and Xi and he also recently invited Xi to Ukraine.
5) The rest of the stuff is just ranting over how unjust Russia is to attack Ukraine and why it is morally wrong to "support" Russia. If ranting about morality works, Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria and Libya wouldn't be where they are today. Moral ranting is for pimple faced teenagers and bleeding heart activists who have no solutions to the world's problems. Zaobao says this guy is the Chairman of some strategy think tank, yet his arguments are either missing logical links, go against facts on the ground or worse still are stuck at an emotional level quibbling over what is morally right or wrong. Very adolescent.
