Trump's tariffs have been questioned on their legality, with some arguing they are unauthorized by Congress and violate constitutional limits on delegation of power. Here's why¹:
- *Lack of Congressional Authorization*: The Constitution gives Congress the power to impose tariffs, and the President cannot exercise it without clear congressional authorization.
- *Major Questions Doctrine*: This doctrine requires Congress to "speak clearly" when authorizing the executive to make decisions of vast economic and political significance. Trump's tariffs may not meet this standard.
- *Nondelegation Doctrine*: Even if Congress authorized the tariffs, it's unclear if they can delegate such authority to the President without violating constitutional limits.
As for whether a court can stop it:
- *Potential for Judicial Review*: Courts can review executive actions, including tariffs, to determine if they are lawful and within the President's authority.
- *Challenges in Court*: Some organizations, like the Liberty Justice Center, are exploring legal challenges to Trump's tariffs, citing grave abuse of executive power.
If courts find the tariffs unlawful, they could potentially invalidate them. However, the outcome depends on various factors, including the specific laws and facts involved.

Trump is regarded as the King of the world with many including those here view him as a powerful global leader whose words carry great influence and wisdom. His guidance is seen as something to be followed, while those who oppose him are often viewed as lacking understanding or civility. They can be classified as barbarians.

President Trump is invoking his authority under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act of 1977 (IEEPA) to address the national emergency posed by the large and persistent trade deficit
Our DPM already explained it.
Nevertheless majority of the Congress has also approved it.
Internationally it does set bad examples.
