Muslim Americans moving to Jill Stein in potential blow to Kamala Harris
WASHINGTON - Arab-American and Muslim voters angry at US support for Israel's offensive in Gaza are shunning Democrat Kamala Harris in the presidential race to back third-party candidate Jill Stein in numbers that could deny Ms Harris victories in battleground states that will decide the Nov 5 election.
Council on American-Islamic Relations data released in September based on a late August poll showed that in Michigan, home to a large Arab American community, 40 per cent of Muslim voters backed the Green Party's Dr Stein. Republican candidate Donald Trump got 18 per cent with Ms Harris, who is President Joe Biden's vice-president, trailing at 12 per cent.

Poll Finds Harris Rising as She Challenges Trump on Change
A national Times/Siena poll found Kamala Harris with a slim lead over Donald J. Trump. Voters were more likely to see her, not Mr. Trump, as a break from the status quo.

A tight race: With four weeks until Election Day, former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris are racing to make their pitches to voters as CNN’s latest average of national polling shows an exceedingly close presidential race as the nominees focus on crucial battleground states in the final campaign sprint.
•On the campaign trail: Harris’ media blitz moves to New York as the vice president sat for several interviews. Democratic vice presidential candidate Tim Walz attended fundraisers on the West Coast, while his GOP counterpart, JD Vance, campaigned in Michigan.
• Storms loom over race: As Florida braces for another major hurricane, the candidates have been slamming each other on how they are navigating the politics surrounding the storms. In an interview with “The View” on Tuesday, Harris said the falsehoods Trump is spreading about the federal response to Hurricane Helene are “the height of irresponsibility.” and...
What to know to cast your vote: With early voting and by mail already underway in much of the country, read CNN’s voter handbook to see how to vote in your area and read up on the 2024 candidates and their proposals on key issues.

US election polls: Who is ahead - Harris or Trump
10 September 2024. (Updated 8 October 2024)
Voters in the US go to the polls on 5 November
to election was rematch, but in July President Joe Biden ended his campaign & endorsed Vice-President Kamala Harris.
The big question now, will America get its first woman president or 2nd Donald Trump term?. As election day approaches, we'll be keeping track of polls & seeing what effect the campaign has on the race for the White House.
Who is leading national polls?
Harris has been ahead of Trump in the national polling averages since she entered the race at the end of July, as shown in the chart below with the latest figures rounded to the nearest whole number. A majority of national polls carried out in the week after suggested Harris's performance had helped her make some small gains, her lead increasing from 2.5& points on the day of the debate to 3.3 points just over a week later. That marginal boost was mostly down to Trump’s numbers though. His average had been rising ahead of the debate, but it fell by half a percentage point in the week afterwards.
You can see those small changes in the poll tracker chart below, with the trend lines showing how the averages have changed and the dots showing the individual poll results for each candidate.
About 240 million people are eligible to vote in this year’s US election, but only a relatively small number of them are likely to decide who becomes the next president.
Experts believe there are only a handful of so-called "swing" states that could plausibly be won by either Democrat Kamala Harris or Republican Donald Trump.
Seven states - Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin - hold keys to White House.
