The real target is the Malaysian earning sgd and driving Singapore car going back home.

Once established monthly routines. The Malaysian govt will know who got $ to be tax more.🤣

No
Many Malaysian working in Singapore needs a car to go home. It is a needs more than luxury.
Taking bus or grab is not feasible.
I know almost all Malaysian in Singapore driving SG car. They bought used car, still affordable for their Singapore salary.

Malaysian register car is expensive to be use in Singapore.

SG already ban SGrean and Malaysians-with-PR from using MY-plates in SG.
IMO, this is the smartest move after the 3/4 tank rule for SG vehicles.

Problem is we don't know those "luxury" SG vehicle's owner/driver is PR or SC.  Maybe that is what VEP is for.

So I find this Topic's heading rather funni since the RFID tagging is for non-MY vehicles, not non-MY drivers.  Big Grin

Most are PR. Some are new Citizens.

Single Malaysian will want to be PR, enjoy Singapore Citizens job status. Buy resale hdb.
Retain Malaysian citizenship benefits for cheap cost of living.

Married Malaysian will go for one spouse be Singapore citizen and the other one to be PR. Buy hdb BTO. Best of both worlds.

There are 1 million of them in Singapore, 30% own Singapore car will flood the Causeway..🤭

their country. they entitle to put in measures.

singapore need to control number of vehicle coming in from malaysia. put serious control of vehicle via coe but allow non singapore car to enter with $35 per day after free first 10days. that is 355*35 = $12425 per year.

now singapore pte car pay various taxes which is more then 100% of omv. so a car of omv 20k pay at least 20k tax. then there is coe which has been at lowest 50k to 100k+

why such a rule where tax punish locals vehicle purchase but allow foreigners to drive in at much lower cost.
is it silly to say to control demand where demand are let in freely?

worse there are malaysia car doing commercial transport in singapore. book a car for whole day and move around singapore.

There are over 1 million of  those Blue-ic holders living, working, schooling and stealing in SG.  That is a FACT everyone are well aware of.

Problem is we can control so much in a very open economy like ours, which depends on easy access for businesses and flow of human resource.

If we are to act like Gov across the Causeway from screwed VEP roll out to tainted race politics to lousy education to corrupted institutions to pro-Bumi-self-interest-protection mind-set, then SGrens will most probably end up far worst of than M'sians,

End of the day those 1-million M'sians already demonstrated how screw up their country is...by voting with their own feet for SG & $SGD be it during or post Pandemic.

This is why I laugh when TS  said of those Blue-IC holders as " Malaysian earning SGD and own SG car is quite rare more likely those in top management"....He really has no idea how cum   SG road is far less jam before every CNY.
