This old man is the main soup who is call Gou. He is himself a declared candidate in Taiwan’s presidential race (he is happy to spoil the soup) having run a campaign as an independent.

Gou’s the 4th and last in the poll, numbers have hovered around less 7% or less since declaring his candidacy.

Taiwan News)— Foxconn founder and independent candidate Terry Gou (郭台銘) has dropped out of the presidential race.

Gou made the announcement in a Facebook post on Friday (Nov. 24). He did so despite receiving 900,000 signatures, far exceeding the minimum threshold to qualify for the 2024 Taiwan presidential election, and selecting actress Tammy Lai (賴佩霞) as his running mate.

In a statement, he said "People may retreat, but aspirations never retreat" and called for the transfer of political power, and the transformation of Taiwan. Friday (today) is the deadline for presidential candidates to register for presidential election.

Kuomintang's (KMT) presidential candidate Hou Yu-ih (侯友宜) and Taiwan People's Party (TPP) candidate Ko Wen-je (柯文哲) both registered at the Central Election Commission with their new running mates.

How no news is a GOOD news, Clapping to be seen his office did not make any official comment. Anyway with this KMT new team, their rating has grown and both Mr Ker and Mr Lai’s rating are dropping.

Frankly with Mr Jaw joining hands with Mr Hou, these two days survey show the support for KMT has increased by 30%.

Mr Ker has made himself to fall into third place after the Thursday Grand Hyatt event. Because he kept saying he is the best and that he wants to hold the Presidency position if he combine with KMT Mr Hou. Where many pan blue supporters are asking how he confirmed he is the best, especially the last Mayor election he almost lost and during his office he didn’t help the Taipei City people much….

Anyway with this KMT new team, their rating has grown and both Mr Ker and Mr Lai’s rating are dropping.

Kuomintang (KMT) vice presidential candidate Jaw Shaw-kong (趙少康) Sat (Nov. 25) pledged to bolster KMT support ahead of the presidential election, scheduled for Jan. 13, 2024. Ensuring a KMT victory is crucial.

He asserted Only a KMT victory can bring hope. A future for Taiwan while maintaining peaceful on cross-strait relations, he criticized current Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) admin, claiming it increased tensions in the Taiwan Strait and deceived the public by asserting that a cross-strait conflict would not happen.

Jaw stressed this election is about choosing between war and peace & urged people to vote for KMT if they want peace, prosperity, clean politics, and stability in the Taiwan Strait.

Jaw said that if KMT presidential candidate Hou Yu-ih (侯友宜) won election, they can reinstate a special investigation unit to apprehend corrupt officials involved in scandals: eg mask& vaccine procurement and the submarine program info leak. He also criticized DPP presidential candidate Lai Ching-te (賴清德) for claiming to be a guardian of peace.

Jaw blasted Lai as someone who previously associated with Taiwan independence and is now portrayed as a protector of peace.

The KMT vice president candidate commended Hou for his courage & broad-mindedness. Jaw said they could complement each other by focusing on different regions of Taiwan during their campaign: he would concentrate on northern Taiwan while Hou could tour central and southern regions to consolidate KMT votes.

Hou selected Jaw as his running mate on Friday (Nov. 24) after cooperation talks between the KMT and another opposition party.

TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Anatolii Fedoruk, the mayor of Bucha, Ukraine, has arrived in Taiwan https://www.taiwannews.com.tw/en/news/5047628

Fedoruk and his delegation arrived on Saturday (Nov. 25) and will stay until Monday (Nov. 28). The group is expected to visit Hsinchu Science Park, the Taiwan Semiconductor Research Center, the Taiwan External Trade Development Council, and the Taipei Computer Association, according to a Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) statement. These engagements aim to deepen Bucha’s links with Taiwan's industrial professionals and foster investment opportunities for the city's science park construction project, the Bucha Techno Garden.

Bucha has suffered heavy shelling following the outbreak of the Russia-Ukraine war and is now garnering international support and assistance from democratic countries for its reconstruction.

Taiwan has maintained close ties with Bucha, having supported reconstruction projects like air-raid shelters and a school, which have helped over 1,000 families, according to MOFA. Fedoruk also recently signed an MOU for cooperation with Taiwan's representative office in Poland, further expanding bilateral exchanges and cooperation, it said.

Fedoruk’s visit marks the first time a Ukrainian municipal has come to Taiwan since the Russia-Ukraine war began, MOFA said. His trip is a milestone in strengthening business exchanges, industrial cooperation, and deepening mutually beneficial partnerships between Taiwan and Ukraine,

TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — Poultry prodect?. Yunlin County’s Gukeng Township culled all 15,374 of Monday (Nov. 27) after becoming the first case of H5N1 reported domestically this winter. Farm noticed abnormal laying conditions among its hens last Wed (Nov. 22), and a few days later, bird flu was confirmed, leading to the culling of the entire farm, including 35,000 eggs & poultry farm came online in April and had only raised its first batch of laying hens. As weather turns cooler, laying hens are more susceptible to bird flu. Additionally, local poultry farms are at risk of contact with an increasing number of migratory birds arriving in Taiwan, making epidemic prevention work more critical.

"Birds often make use of islands to rest on their migration routes ... Taiwan is very important in this manner, with many wild birds potentially being carriers of the H5N1 virus," said Yunlin County Animal Disease Control Center staffer Cheng An-guo (鄭安國).

According to the Yunlin County Animal Disease Control Center, there have been a total of 12 cases of bird flu in Yunlin County this year. When compared with the same period over the past three years, there has been no increase in H5N1.

The center did add that the onset of winter each year is when bird flu is most likely to occur in Taiwan. It called upon poultry farms to increase awareness of the virus and take more preventative measures, such as disinfecting the surrounding environment to avoid losses.

As Yunlin Country has most of DPP legislators such news will not be widely reported in Taiwan. Reason is DPP has controlled over 90% of the media in Taiwan.

And the agriculture minister will give subsidies help to all the farmers, whether they are vegetables or poultries will get help from government. Therefore such news will not affect majorities in Taiwan.

The National Communications Commission (NCC) wants answers from media groups about senior figures in the election, including Kuomintang (KMT) vice-presidential candidate Jaw Shaw-kong (趙少康), reports said Wednesday (Nov. 29).

Jaw chairs the Broadcasting Corporation of China (BCC) radio group. He has faced questions about how its reporters can provide unbiased reporting as long as he heads the company.

Another media figure targeted by the NCC was Hsu Jui-hsi (徐瑞希), a member of the board at public television stations Chinese Television System (CTS) and Public Television Systems (PTS), per CNA. Taiwan People’s Party (TPP) nominated her for a seat in the Legislative Yuan.

The NCC said Wednesday it had sent letters to BCC, CTS, and PTS to ask how they expect to provide impartial coverage of the elections. A reply is expected within seven days, to be followed by a discussion at the NCC.

Taiwan has legislation barring political parties, the military, and politicians from running media companies. However, the phrasing of the rules could be interpreted as the candidates might only be breaking the law if they stay on after being elected

Taiwan People's Party (TPP) vice presidential candidate Cynthia Wu (吳欣盈) to a question about her status U.S. citizen raised eyebrows. When media on Wednesday afternoon (Nov. 29) whether she had renounced her U.S. citizenship, required by law for Taiwanese politicians to hold office, Wu said she gave it up "a long time ago," Said SET News. She said"This is a matter between me & U.S. govt." Wednesday night, Wu said she had already renounced her U.S. citizenship several years ago and did not relinquish it just because of the election. She said she hates spread of fake news during elections it's wrong to ask her to "dance along."

Kuomintang (KMT) Taoyuan City Councilor Ling Tao-jen (凌濤認) was cited by SET as saying she would prefer to believe this is just another unfounded controversy, but if TPP presidential candidate Ko Wen-je (柯文哲) "were to nominate a vice presidential candidate who had not renounced her (U.S.) citizenship, it would be truly earth-shattering." Ling asked, "TPP has always emphasized reason & science, you can't confirm information and personal background?"

Ling added, "key point is attitude." In response to Wu's claim, "This is matter between me & U.S. govt," Ling said this is a matter for Taiwan.

With less than two months to go before Taiwan’s presidential election, the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) is facing problems.
William Lai Ching-te remains front runner, a recent poll shows his lead is slipping. This might come as a surprise to some, but fact is DPP has done a mediocre job in many vital areas, even as the island’s situation becomes more precarious.

Since! anyway with KMT new team rating has grown. Kuomintang (KMT) vice presidential candidate Jaw Shaw-kong (趙少康) with Mr Jaw joining hands with Mr Hou, this days show the support for KMT has increased by plus +30%.
