That is not a fair comparison. At the time of Pelosi's landing here, her official itinerary did not include Taiwan. It would be very inappropriate of Singapore to give her the cold shoulder just based on mere speculation.

If we had concrete confirmation she was visiting Taiwan while here, my best guess is LHL will still meet her but put on record in a stronger but diplomatically polite tone that we disagree and vigorously urge her to reconsider her decision.

Korean president didn’t meet Pelosi as he was on holiday. Korean Foreign Minister never met her is because he was in Cambodia attending conference. No Koreans welcomed her in the airport because the president never arranged that before he went on leave.

Korea already told media yesterday that not meeting Pelosi is to protect Korea’s national interests.

Furthermore Korean President already met with Biden, why should he cancel his holiday and meet up with US speaker, makes no sense. Both Biden and Trump urged Pelosi not to visit Asia at current circumstance. Korean President has to support Biden lah.

As long as Sinkie land didn't have to pay goodie for her visit, nothing wrong for PM and President to meet her.. Maintain friendly relationship for Sinkie land is important..

His distaste of China is clearly illustrated by his Beijing smoking joke and Shanghai pork soup joke.

His popularity dropped to the lowest in just month's into office for pandering to the west and humiliating treatment.

Must have got a lecture from some senior politicians to correct his mindset that as president of SK he should hold himself in high esteem AND act in the interest of the country.

Pelosi is just a speaker not the president (below his rank ) and he dont want to be force to take side and join the 4chip
