Why Sam Goi's dinner guests did not keep social distancing of 1.5 m.?

W/O social distancing and mask shows the dinner could be held after Covid19 restrictions were fully lifted maybe in 2023

Any ideas

If they were to obey the rules imposed by Govt, ie. to  wear a mask and keeping social distancing of 1.5 m, then strictly speaking, they cannot be so close and intimate..

It will almost be impossible for politicians to socialise and build relationships with private entrepreneurs..

In addition, to comply with certain ministerial regulations, why Sam Goi didn't instead organise a $50 per person Buffet allowing his guests to eat as much as they can?

Basing on business sense, was Sam throwing the dinner trying to impress Fujian gang money launderer?

What was their business relationships?

To determine whether the diners at Sam Goi's dinner adhered to COVID-19 restrictions, we need to know the specific date of the dinner. Unfortunately, the exact date isn't provided, but based on the available information:

- If the dinner took place around August 2021 or later, when restrictions had eased, groups of up to 5 fully vaccinated people were allowed to dine together at food and beverage establishments.
- However, if it occurred during stricter periods, like May 2021, dining in was prohibited or limited to groups of 2.

Given Sam Goi's dinner included multiple ministers and a money launderer, if it happened during a stricter period, it's unlikely they adhered to the group size limit of 2. If it occurred during a more relaxed period, a group of that size might have been permissible if all diners were fully vaccinated.¹ ²

CNA 20 November 2021

SINGAPORE: Fully vaccinated people, including those from different households, can dine together in groups of up to five from Monday (Nov 22 2021), Singapore's COVID-19 multi-ministry task force announced on Saturday.

The group size limit on social gatherings will also be raised from two to five people, and the cap on household visitors will likewise increase to five, said task force co-chair Gan Kim Yong.

"SINGAPORE - Rules on social gatherings will be tightened starting this Saturday (May 8 2021), as Singapore takes stricter measures to stop the spread of Covid-19 in the wider community.

First, people will be allowed to gather only in groups of five, down from eight currently.

These restrictions also apply to households, which will be able to receive only five distinct visitors a day, the Ministry of Health (MOH) announced on Tuesday.""

Cautions

They should be wary that someone from the public may file a police report against attendees flouting Covid19 social distancing of 1.5m and groups gathering of 5 people rules.

Fearing, they could be charged in court.

I'm not so concerned about maintaining social distancing. It's more about how many of such dinners have been arranged. It's no good for those who have power to be colluding with businessmen to exploit the average man. And such things do happen and they often lead to decline of nations.

In Singapore, the offer or acceptance of "gratification" can indeed be considered an offence under the Prevention of Corruption Act (PCA), even if it's presented as a gesture of gratitude. The term "gratification" is broadly defined and can include a wide range of things like money, gifts, or even favors.

The key factor is whether the gratification was given or accepted with corrupt intent, which can be linked to influencing a decision or obtaining a benefit.
