Now, the Chinese fugitive got arrested in Batam is giving a golden opportunity for SPF to express her superior intelligence over others in the region.

Good job  Clapping

As each member country of Interpol decides the legal obligation to give an Interpol Red Notice and what action to take against a subject to such a notice within their country, the SG govt seems to place more value in having an ultra-wealthy foreigner invest his money here, than whether he acquired that wealth legally.

It is most unfortunate that S'pore's reputation as a safe harbour for money launderers has again been strengthened.

S'porean tax payers do all the heavy lifting to earn money that our govt extracts from us in exchange for protection; doesn't this remind us of the Mafia?

It is govt policy to attract ultra rich foreigners to SG as a safe tax haven for their money. It is understandable that our authorities will close one or even two eyes to how this wealth is accumulated.

Criminals can flee to another country to try to evade justice. A Red Notice alerts police worldwide about internationally wanted fugitives.

What is a Red Notice?
A Red Notice is a request to law enforcement worldwide to locate and provisionally arrest a person pending extradition, surrender, or similar legal action. It is based on an arrest warrant or court order issued by the judicial authorities in the requesting country. Member countries apply their own laws in deciding whether to arrest a person.

It contains two main types of information:

Information to identify the wanted person, such as their name, date of birth, nationality, hair and eye colour, photographs and fingerprints if available.
Information related to the crime they are wanted for, which can typically be murder, rape, child abuse or armed robbery.
Red Notices are published by INTERPOL at the request of a member country, and must comply with INTERPOL’s Constitution and Rules."

Based on record, Singapore law may apply and treat cases differently even if Singaporeans or PRs commited illegal gaming offences, money laundering and corruption overseas.

Every execution has a reason..

I fully support Singapore authority to wait for tiny little guppies to grow much bigger, and then, trap another much bigger fish more than S$3.8 billions..

Excellent strategy
