Does it make sense to pay so much to run 6 million people where other leaders are running much more people with less pay.

To prevent corruption? Let’s see the track records. It’s not working isn’t it? So why keep to something that’s not working?

We need a gov that can pay themselves correctly yet not overly paid but many don’t see this.

65% agree to pay them well. So that's a democracy decision. No?🤭

Not surprising if the reason is to prevent corruption.

The govt got to compensate them for the money they could have made from corruption.

So the most corrupted will get the most salary.

#2.  And they have OVER- crowded big team

#3. Most of the Ministers are part-timers

#4. Never see them really debate for 3 hours in Parliament like UK

Why do we need 5 Mayors and 80 PAP Ministers?

While intuitive, maybe can't compare one country to another country PM pay? How about India roadsweeper pay vs SG roadsweeper pay vs Swedish roadsweeper pay? India roadsweeper may be doing most work as most dirty.

Who should be paid more? These 2 or Prime Minister of a country?
Here are the top 5 companies in Singapore based on market cap, along with their CEO's salary ¹:

- OCBC Bank: CEO: Helen Wong CEO salary: $8.50 million Number of employees: 30000
- DBS Bank: CEO: Piyush Gupta CEO salary: $15.4 million Number of employees: More than 36,000

If they are paid more, then the ministars will get more. It is in the formulae used.

They are not worth and neither deserved that much. Just look at our surroundings, it is not getting better, but, is getting worse instead. So much mis-managements and unwarranted policies.

The Govt justifies their salaries by claiming they are necessary to attract S'pore's top talents and prevent corruption. So the Govt is saying that in order to deter their politicians from stealing public funds, $1 - 2 million must be deposited into their bank accounts annually. That does not make our politicians "honest".

S'porean taxpayers are not getting value for money since the overpaid Ministers are passing laws that keep heaping hardship on the very people who voted them into power.

Stealing taxpayers' money is corruption. Deciding each other's mega pay using taxpayers' money is legal.

In some countries, squandering nation money on rubbish investments can be also considered corruptions. It can also be termed mis-use of funds not directly belonged to oneself. Such lots can be taken to courts of laws to be dealt with.
