I’ve seen quite a few MLM folks boosting their online presence heavily, especially on social media and blogs. One of them pointed me to this: https://www.apsense.com/article/854541-b...ntent.html, which shows how important backlinks still are. They use these tactics to climb Google rankings, so new recruits think they’re part of something legit and successful. It’s all about looking credible online, even if the business model stays shaky.

As someone who has seen my fair share of sales incentive / commission plans in many industries, I would say direct marketing commission earnings are somewhere around median and maybe slightly below that compared to plans in other industries.

There is nothing really unique about a direct marketing sales plan other than the fact that is is almost always in the FMCG industry for obvious reasons and there is this tendency to BS its sales agent that they are not salesmen but "entrepreneurs" with many companies coming up with fanciful job titles beyond the usual VP, Director, GM etc.

The rest of the so called MLM selling points like no ceiling, no minimal KPIs, trickle up drawings from downline, flexibility to work etc. are prevalent in sales of many other industries as well. The only more unique thing is it has almost no barriers to entry because they are selling consumer goods. Many other sales like medical, properties, automobiles, manpower, insurance etc. do require some basic technical knowledge and industry connections.

That's pretty much all there is to MLM.
