This is an article filled with blatant falsehoods.

As a daily surfer of Chinese social media and forums, cheering for Russia's invasion is definitely NOT mainstream. Most China posts express understanding in Russia's reasons for invading Ukraine, seeing it as part of an active defense against NATO aggression. Almost all are sympathetic to ordinary Ukrainians' plight in general. Some blame Ukrainian people and their politicians for this foolish brinksmanship that eventually backfired while others feel no matter what Russia has acted rashly and beyond proportion.

I would say postings and comments that are cheering for the Russian invasion are the usual trolls and fringe elements that take up ~10% at best.

This is yet another example of the western media capitalizing on the fact that their readers cannot read Chinese and therefore there is little risk in spinning tall tales that cannot be verified.
