"South African genocide case legal team returns to heroes’ welcome

The South African legal team that presented last week’s Gaza genocide case to the International Court of Justice was cheered and applauded by waiting crowds when they returned to an airport in Johannesburg"

Albanese government refuses to reveal stance on UN genocide case against Israel.

The Albanese government is refusing to reveal its position on South Africa’s case against Israel at the UN’s international court of justice before the court’s first hearing into allegations of genocide on Thursday at The Hague.

Hmm...
What is the Aussie stance?

SA's actions bring the world back to International Law, whether you are big or small player

It is the ICJ (representing International Law) that is now on trial

If the ICJ sides with Israel, inspite of the genocide unfolding right in front of our eyes, International Law is finished and a new world order will emerge

This is why Shan reiterates the point that small players must bunch up to demand big ones stick to International Law

Although Singapore fought and won several times @ ICJ, the best this time is for Singapore to duck from taking a stance on Israel genocide court case.

Staying away

One wonders why is SA so emboldened?

The short simple answer is BRICS

The longer answer is that the Ukrainian war exposed the weakness of the West financial & military shields. As a result, the rest of the world ("global south") is emboldened by BRICS as a viable financial & military alternative, enough to join the bloc.
