PM Wong said that the Govt doing its best to help with cost of living, while opposition tries to exploit issue.

In my opinion, he is either stupid, incompetent or dishonest. His two rounds of GST increases (which I consider to be unnecessary) is a major contributor to the increase in the cost of living.

The government is not tackling the root causes of the increase in rental of business premises and the sharp increase in health care in recent years.

Yes, they have given CDC vouchers, health subsidies and Medisave topups, but these grants appear to fuel the price increases of food and health.

There are better ways to deal with the root causes. In the case of Malaysia, the health care cost is kept in check because the public hospitals continue to keep the prices low and act as a check on private hospitals. In the case of Singapore, the increases in charges in our restructured hospitals is good news for private hospitals, as they can use these increases to justify their own increases.

This is my opinion. I may be wrong.
