We were originally meant to be living in a country that's 450 times bigger than what we have now.  But Tengku wanted a Malay Malaysia while LKY wanted a Malaysian Malaysia.  

So we parted ways, and what we have now is a Singaporean Singapore.  We don't have a Malay Singapore but neither are we a Chinese Singapore.

It serves no purpose at all to compare Singapore with China because we are two separate, different sovereign countries.  We could as well compare ourselves with Mexico, Brazil, France, Japan, and so on and so forth, but for what?

China will forever be many times bigger than us in terms of land mass, and far more endowed in terms of natural resources.  On these two counts alone, we are not even a match for Malay Malaysia.  That's our lot.

Yes, many things are cheaper in China.  Food is one.  Car is another.  And sure, it is cheaper to date an atb than to date a sinkiebu who thinks very highly of herself.

Some sinkies think the world of Australia, and they emigrated there. Many could not integrate, were misfits sticking out like a sore thumb and returned with their tail between their hind legs.  A good example is lvlrsSTI.  Some think the world of China and they emigrated there like my friend, whose alma mater was Catholic High School, which equipped him with a good command of Mandarin, and a decent level of proficiency in English.  To each his own.  There is no point in benchmarking everything in Singapore, or everything which happened in Singapore, against China.
