Scale of Myanmar's loss is clearer one week after the quake. More than 3,000 people were killed by last week's 7.7 magnitude earthquake.

Myanmar's military junta has said. Hundreds more people are missing and the toll is expected to rise...As rescuers are still unable to reach parts of the country devastated by quake. As the BBC's Nick Beake explains, while BBC has been reporting inside Myanmar as week past, since disaster struck, revealing widespread devastation. Some
survivors has been pulled out from rubble, many others been not fortunate. crying

Myanmar 7.7-Magnitude Earthquake Split the Ground & Brought an Ancient Structure to the Surface in central Myanmar unearthed an ancient structure may be part of a royal “water palace,” experts say. Previously, only a staircase was visible. Now, after the earthquake, a railing, riser step, & brick platforms are all above the surface. Some experts suggest that the structure is more likely a wooden residence that resembles other monasteries with traditional Burmese architectural style.

Four weeks since the 28 March 2025 earthquakes, affected communities continue to reel from the persistent impacts of the disaster. Critical needs remain for safe shelter, clean water and sanitation, physical and mental health care, comprehensive protection services and cash assistance.
Humanitarians plan to target 1.1 million people with the most severe needs. Since the earthquakes, humanitarians reached at least 600,000 people with water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) support, close to 488,000 people with various forms of food assistance, and nearly 117,000 people with essential relief items.
While needs remain for emergency assistance, support for early recovery and livelihoods is paramount for rebuilding lives, restoring economic activities, enhancing their resilience for the disaster affected population.
More resources and sustained access remain critical to scaling up the response and reaching those in need
