Only Singaporean address others as uncle, regardless of the age of that person,  The  Chinese  usually address others as Da Ge, Da Jie which is more respectable to the other person. I used to hear my grandma addressing others as Da Ge too.

You're right lah!  Only China people called me Da Ge Big Brother lah! Uncle sounds better lah!
