In their teaching, they perform sacrifice to cover yearly sin just like the Jews did. They also give out the animal to the poor as a charity and only consume max of one third of the animal. They are also not allowed to consume the animal if they felt or said they felt sorry for the animal for that undo the covering of sin for them.

Before when I was a free thinker, I never understood how can one pay debt or interest by sacrificing something that belongs to the creator of all things.

Therefore, I leave them alone instead of convincing them. They can be rather sensitive, ie cannot say anything bad about them but must accept their badmouthing of others' religion and faith.

It's good that you're asking that question coz I've been asking the same to all the Christians I've spoken to about their faith. How is it that God sacrifices himself to pay for the sins of mankind? It's totally incomprehensible when you already know that everything belongs to God.
