Iran is half-hearted in its relationship with China. Not fully committed. Iranian leaders are still hoping to make peace with Israel and USA!

If Iran continues to be unwilling to commit to its relationship with China, the country may end up like Libya!

Iran's previous government signed a bilateral agreement with China to cooperate in various fields including cheap Iranian oil in exchange for China's infrastructure development in Iran

But Iran has to be very careful not to fall into China's "debt trap". Or for that matter whoever's debt trap. 

Iran had a change in government. The new Iranian president, being new & naive, wanted to cosy up to the US. But he got played out by the US and has since grew wiser. This is why Iran will not negotiate with the US on its rights to peaceful nuclear energy, under US military threats.

China condemns Israel &support Palestine at the UN. But China still is Israel's top trading nation. My point is, all this talk about being committed to relationships takes a back seat to your own people's interest.
