SINGAPORE – The upcoming general election that takes place amid profound changes across the world carries far greater stakes, said PM Lawrence Wong.
PAP is stepping up with new resolve, and is ready for the challenge with a fresh team, he said.

PM Wong, who is heading into his first hustings as secretary-general of the ruling party, was speaking at the launch of PAP manifesto:...

Changed World, Fresh Team, New Resolve – Securing a Brighter Future for You. (NOTE: He are addressing more than 400 party activists gathered at a studio in one-north). 

He said: "Comrades" let’s give it our all in this election. Let’s convince S'poreans to give the PAP their mandate & support.
“Let’s work hard to secure a brighter future for every Singaporean, & for many more years to come.” It cannot be politics as usual with changes going on in the world, said PM Wong stakes involved include S'pore’s interest is defended on global stage & nation will navigate through stormy weather to secure lives & livelihoods for its people. For EG: “Merdeka Gen Package (MGP), a Sporean govt initiative for individuals born between 1950 to 1959. 

This year is SG60 election is ultimately about our future. History has rarely been kind to small states,” he added and said. PM Wong added: “What we have today is nothing short of a miracle. How long can this miracle last? Especially as world turns more dangerous hostile?. Frankly, no one can tell. “But you have my word – PAP do everything it can to keep this miracle going as long as possible.”Party is ready for new challenge...  

He said, as he introduced 32 new candidates who'll be standing in upcoming election with 97 seats to be contested. PM Wong PAP will fight to grow a vibrant economy w/good jobs opportunities for all, as referenced key highlights of this manifesto. 

It'll continue to strengthen education system so every child can develop to the fullest, every adult can keep upgrading their skills & securing better jobs. “We will ensure affordable, quality homes; & empower S'poreans to stay healthy, and age with dignity,” he said. The ruling PAP will work to build greener & more sustainable city, take sports, arts
& culture to new heights, making more accessible, enjoyable for all. 

PM Wong said: “We'll build a society where there's respect for all, where everyone is valued for who they are.” 
The launch of the party PAP: Manifesto comes as the Writ of Election was issued on April 15, kicking off a hectic 2 & half weeks to Polling Day on May 3.

Campaigning will begin proper on 
Nomination Day on April 23.
PM Wong said party will do its best to win the mandate of the people. He also acknowledged efforts from PAP activists, who knock on doors, organise events, make calls & rally support, year after year as world politics keep on changing, this are not a usual election with the changes going on in the world.
