There are many ways for putin to engage ukraine, but he choose to invade. Its like saying a you are wooing a girl but she look the other side, you decided to rape her instead.

I do agree that he should have given Ukraine an ultimatum to declare themselves neutral before sending his troops in but well, he may have other concerns. I'm not him, so no comments on this.

But no need to give example, because I can return you another. For example, this could be Putin seeing an ex-beau who is going to be cheated by somebody, and he's only going there to help her (not rape hor), and perhaps help themselves back into a good relationship.
