The spokesman called on the United States to take Chinese concerns seriously and not to undermine China's rights and interests in the context of "resolving the Ukraine issue" and Chinese ties with Russia.

China will take action to protect the rights and interests of Chinese citizens and businesses, a spokesman quoted by Reuters said.

China promises to help Ukraine

He also announced that the Chinese Red Cross will provide Ukraine with humanitarian aid for daily needs worth 5 million yuan (over USD 790 thousand).
