Ocean currents affect the land masses.  If the ocean current is warm the surrounding land masses will be warm, conversely, it the ocean current is cold, the surrounding land mass will be cold..........................  

Currently all the currents move clockwise, if the earth rotates the other direction all the currents will move anti-clockwise…the freezing cold current will move from Alaska to Japan, the Philippines and Spore.
