Guess the Thais are planning for the eventual rise of the sea level, when Bangkok region will be submerged.
Building a sea barrier to protect Bangkok will be too costly and to maintain too.
So shifting the capital city to U-Tapao with its higher land elevation will be the most attractive option in the coming century.
U-Tapao will also be nearer to their major container sea port than BKK.
The sandy coastline along this Rayong province is also way better than the coastal mud banks near BKK.
