Oleksii Reznikov, Minister of Defense of Ukraine, announced this on his social media page.

“In 16 months, Ministry of Defense has already adopted for operation more than 30 models of UAVs of various types – reconnaissance, strike, kamikaze drones, and loitering munitions. Ammunition for UAVs was officially set up as a separate category,” Reznikov said.

For now drones were being assembled in the country mainly from foreign components, but plans were on the agenda to produce components in Ukraine. At same time Reznikov says, there was no intention to "build a factory the size of a stadium."

Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis said Ukrainian govt had allocated almost $1.1 billion this July-2023 to production UAVs. Added that Ukraine authorities had removed customs barriers to importing drone parts into Ukraine, raising profit share for manufacturers to 25%, and made a decision to "promotes mass production of drone ammunition."

According more than 40 Ukrainian companies involved in drone production have now signed contracts with the government, and "the production of UAVs has grown tenfold
