Not only Lebanon's long-time enemy Hezbollah, a Shiite militant group, but also the Houthis, a Yemeni militant group approximately 2,000 kilometers from Israel , have joined the war with missile attacks. It is the first time the Houthis have been involved in a conflict outside the country since 2015, when they took control of much of Yemen, according to AFP news agency.

Something tells me a much WIDER WAR is the making in the Middle East...but this time is different from previous major conflict between Arab states and Israel of the 1960s and 70s. It will be an asymmetrical warfare....with proven tactics using relatively low tech drones, unmanned platforms on top of agile de-centralised guerrilla strategy used by Hamas on 7 Oct and Taliban in the last 20 years. This combines with exploiting weaknesses in high-tech expensive conventional warfare shows RMA cycle is getting shorter and disruptive.
This is more apparent as IDF increasingly shown to be inept against Hamas after over a month of intense bombing against a densely populated, monitored, policed, controlled and surveyed refugee zone of Gaza.
