Yes there are other ancient religions that promised the same but these are not being pushed now and they are also not readily available in English or Chinese.
These pushers of Christianity are very brilliant, got to give it to them.
They use fear, hope, propaganda, music, dance, etc to win the hearts and minds of believers. Just like pap.
Plus the fact that the evangelists provide a very enjoyable experience to the old and the sick. My mother is a Christian but I definitely know more about the bible than her. I am a Buddhist and before she became a Christian I'm trying to make her understand the Buddhist philosophy, so that she knows how to choose a religion, not blindly join one. But she doesn't like the Buddhist way of preaching, which is to constantly drum into people the idea that everything is impermanent and suffering. At her age, she doesn't want to hear anything about dying. She wants something simple, which Christianity could provide. Simply believe and one will gain salvation. No need to understand about the complex philosophy that Buddha teaches.
