Maybe you're a pacifist so you will not agree to any commands to go to war so that's why you don't believe the Quran is from God because you want God to be a pacifist like you.

What other reason could there be?

If you are inadequate then you really need to study your quran in depth...of cos the quran does not promote war!,!

do not take 9:29 as what I said...I am merely setting a trap for you to fall in!

Verse 9:29 is not a general order to fight against Christians. ....It was a specific order to defend against the Roman!

Verse 9:29 must be read together with other verses of the Quran, such as the following:

Fight in the way of Allah those who fight you but do not transgress. Verily, Allah does not love transgressors. (2:190)

Fight them until there is no more persecution and worship is for Allah. But if they cease, then there is to be no aggression except against the oppressors. (2:193)

If the enemy inclines to peace, then incline to it also and rely upon Allah. Verily, it is He who is the Hearing, the Knowing. (8:61)

So if they remove themselves from you and do not fight you and offer you peace, then Allah has not made for you a cause for fighting against them. (4:90)
