When someone or a foreign entity claimed you are not a Singaporean or belongs to another foreign government's interest. 

It is logical to state you served Singapore NS as a official referendum to your position in Nationalism. 
NS is the core of all male Singaporean's share common interest in life. 

It doesn't matter what foreigners view about it.

What matters is that you keep repeating it like a prayer but nobody gives shit to it. You are being questioned about your nationality and you just say you are a Singaporean, that's it. Why need to repeat that you did NS over and over? If you are a Singaporean chabor then what do you say? Your cheebie is more fragrant than a Vietbu cheebie?
