Former managing director cheated AVA of nearly S$250,000 in false purchase claims for grants, gets 40 months' jail

During an inspection, an AVA senior executive was shown some electrical distribution generators and told that those were heat pumps. 

AVA disbursed S$106,400 to Tan Chee Boon’s company the next month when the company had never bought a heat pump system.
