Myanmar’s regime administration has ceased in Myingyan and Natogyi towns in Mandalay Region during the anti-regime “Myingyan District Special Operation” by several resistance groups. On Sat & Monday attacks launched in Natogyi and Taung Tha towns in which several regime positions were defeated, Myingyan People’s Defense Force (PDF) told The Irrawaddy. After attacks, junta stopped its admin work at near district-level town of Myingyan town. A resident said he went to Myingyan general administration dept for citizenship verification but it was closed as Manmar Junta Loses Grip on Major Mandalay Region Town: A PDF member told The Irrawaddy “Myingyan hospital is closed and all patients were sent home by junta. Hospital staff were sent to Pakokku [in Magwe Region]. Most civil servants have left.” reportedly fortifying Myingyan, taking positions at hospital.

As resistance forces in Taung Tha town, 21km south of Myingyan, overran 3 regime including a supply station Regime forces retreated to Myingyan, abandoning their notorious checkpoint on Myingyan-Taung Tha road, as Taung Tha General Strike Committee, monitors action in town said junta-controlled govt depts, except for admin, police station & fire dept, it closed the town. A PDF member said all staff left Natogyi. A weekend fight by resistance briefly seized town, apart from police station, (be4 retreating during junta airstrikes, according to Natogyi PDF). Resistance groups also seized a junta position guarding another pipeline supply station east of town. Natogyi PDF said allies killed over 30 troops, detained 3-soldiers & around 27 weapons & ammunition during op in Natogyi town.
