Those who are working and living on current salary scale can easily cope with the rapid rising cost of living. Those who are unemployed and those retired and living on past savings will find it very tough living in this most expensive city in the world.  So life has not improved for everyone as PAP claimed looking down from their ivory tower and seeing only part of the big picture.      

Very good point. Given that our Singaporean population is ageing what they want is usually cost of living to be contained because their ability to earn declines towards and after retirement.
