Motorists can sign up online to register details of their vehicle, owner and driver. Car owners can also appoint a representative to register on their behalf.
After the information is verified, registrants will receive a confirmation email, which they can use to present at designated VEP collection counters in Johor Bahru to get their VEP-RFID tags.
The processing fee of the VEP tag is RM10 (S$2.85).
A road charge of RM20 is currently imposed on foreign-registered private cars each time they enter Malaysia.
Cheers!!!!!
Malaysia will be prosperous very soon!!!
Yeah!!!!🍻👏👏👏

Last time already registered but no time to collect as it is during their office hours. I thought, now, they are already collecting RM$20 for every trip.

Buying property and staying in msia, you have to be prepared for all these rule changes depending on who is running the country.

2 more months to go, but only 17% vehicles that go into Msia have got VEP
The new government naively did not foresee the magnitude of the problem. They just couldnt appreciate that Singapore car ownership is very different from theirs. We change cars every 1, 2 or 3 years bcos cars are inhumanely expensive and the singaporeans who escape the high cost of living into JB for cheap food, cheap groceries & cheap petrol can only afford to own near end-of-coe cars.
The frequent transferring of cars from 1 owner to the next but which wasnt followed up properly for the VEP side, overload the application system & the hotlines.
The new transport minister of the new government will learn the hard way why his predecessors couldnt do it for years

Why Malaysia VEP must be implemented.
1 Collecting Critical data of foreign vehicles entering Malaysia.
Nationality of vehicle owners.
Data of foreign vehicle owners.
Frequency of entry.
For Malaysian driving SG cars with multiple entries, a study on income tax, property asset tax can be consider for future policy reference.
2 With regard to the validation of traffic summons. Offense not paid will be reject from entering Malaysia.
3 Resolving critical bottle neck jam at causeway and in JB roads. Which is a serious problem in JB.
The payment per trip fee may discourage SG plate drivers from utilizing the subsidized petrol cost in Johor Bahru.
Additionally, it could reduce the frequency of Malaysian drivers of Singapore-registered vehicles from visiting their families in Johor Bahru.
Therefore cut down the number of vehicles on the Causeway and JB roads.
4 Vehicle Entry Permit (VEP) is a permit issued by the Road Transport Department (under Section 66H of the Road Transport Act 1987) that allows the entry of foreign vehicles into Malaysia.
All foreigners must comply to it in entering Malaysia. If or for some unexpected reason, a foreign vehicle owner fail in the application of the VEP, the vehicle shall be rejected by Malaysian authority.
This is a common practice in most countries border.

Depending on individual country tax system.
Singapore don't tax her citizen for overseas incomes. Unless fall within stipulated conditions.
USA taxes her citizen overseas and investment incomes.
With regards to Malaysia, there are approximately 1 million Malaysian workers or permanent residents who earn their income in Singapore.
Additionally, many individuals reside in or purchase lower-cost goods in Johor Bahru (JB).
Given these factors, it is anticipated that the JB government will capitalize on the disparity in overseas income tax. Or other assets, investment income taxes.
Imagine 1 million Malaysian work in Singapore pay MYR 1000 annual income tax.
That will be addition MYR 1 Billion tax revenue for JB...huat ah!!!!
And to the Malaysian working in Singapore, MYR 1000 per year is Peanuts .🤣🤣🤣

There are 2 types of VEP-RFID.
Depending on the type you received, follow their instructions.
1. Paste on the headlight
2. Paste on the windscreen.
The worst part is that people can peel it off from outside and you can't come back to Singapore..

PUTRAJAYA: The government intends to expand the Vehicle Entry Permit (VEP) and Road Charge (RC) system at the Malaysia-Thailand border, says Anthony Loke.
The Transport Minister said the new system, which will be handled by a private company, would encompass eight border crossing gates between Malaysia and Thailand.
