Historically, caliphates were established after the death of the Prophet Muhammad in the 7th century and lasted in various forms until the early 20th century.

The term often comes up in discussions about political movements that seek to establish a state governed by Islamic law (Sharia) and emphasize a unified Muslim community (Ummah) under a single leader. Groups like ISIS, for example, have used the concept of the caliphate to justify their actions and rally support, claiming to establish a new caliphate in parts of Iraq and Syria.

Resurrecting the caliphate can evoke strong emotions and differing opinions. For some, it symbolizes a return to a historical ideal of Islamic governance, while for others, it raises concerns about extremism, sectarianism, and the implications for global security and human rights.

The Ottoman Caliphate's fall: A story which lives on in Islamic memories

The desire to unite all Muslims under a single power eventually proved illusory, and in March 1924 the Turkish Parliament voted to abolish the caliphate. Certain Islamist movements continue to call for its restoration.

Officially the Ottoman Empire was an Islamic Caliphate ruled by a Sultan, Mehmed V, although it also contained Christians, Jews and other religious minorities. For nearly all of the empire's 600-year existence these non-Muslim subjects endured systematic discrimination and, at times, outright persecution.

The Quran is replete with Surahs directing its followers to violence.

Some examples follow:

Surah 3:151: "We shall cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve (all non-Muslims) …"

Surah 2:191: "And kill them (non-Muslims) wherever you find them … kill them. Such is the recompense of the disbelievers (non-Muslims)."

This is exactly how some Muslims become self-radicalised after reading their religious texts online and the reason why most moderate Muslims do not condemn extremists of the same faith.

Iran has experienced a significant growth in Christianity, particularly among younger generations. This growth is often attributed to factors such as disillusionment with the political and religious establishment, a desire for spiritual connection and exposure to Western media and culture. It is important to note that Christianity is not officially recognised in Iran, and converts often face persecution, discrimination and death. Despite these challenges, the Christian community in Iran continues to grow and thrive. The Iranian people are not blind, and know that their Islamic Govt is leading them astray.

Ezekiel 16:25

New International Version

25 At every street corner you built your lofty shrines and degraded your beauty, spreading your legs with increasing promiscuity to anyone who passed by.

26 You engaged in prostitution with the Egyptians, your neighbors with large genitals, and aroused my anger with your increasing promiscuity.

Both verses what you have quoted are related to wars 1400 years ago.you should read the entire chapter to understand the meaning.

I have pasted here the complete verse from my Quran .

We will cast horror into the hearts of the disbelievers for associating ˹false gods˺ with Allah—a practice He has never authorized. The Fire will be their home—what an evil place for the wrongdoers to stay!Quran 3:151

Kill them wherever you come upon them and drive them out of the places from which they have driven you out. For persecution is far worse than killing. And do not fight them at the Sacred Mosque unless they attack you there. If they do so, then fight them—that is the reward of the disbelievers.Quran 2:191

I believe one certain moslem individual might challenge you for spreading misinformation, as the verses are loosely translated. Let's see if he holds to double standards if he comes across this.... Big Grin

Extremist Imam Nalla Mohamed Abdul Jameel escaped punishment when he claimed it was a mere "indiscretion" that “could have caused serious repercussions on the interfaith harmony” in S'pore. A police report was lodged against the imam who quoted a verse from the Quran along the lines of “God grant us victory over Jews and Christians”, among other things. His comments were captured in a video and shared online.

The Quran must undergo a revision, as ongoing misinterpretations by its adherents can lead to the loss of innocent lives globally, inciting hatred and violence towards non-believers. This situation seems to have no end in sight!

The extremists have interpreted their holy writings in that way while the moderates choose to keep silent because of their shared religion with the terrorists.

Why no comment on those two Ezekiel verses?

25 At every street corner you built your lofty shrines and degraded your beauty, spreading your legs with increasing promiscuity to anyone who passed by.

26 You engaged in prostitution with the Egyptians, your neighbors with large genitals, and aroused my anger with your increasing promiscuity.

I am adding one more verse,Ezekiel 23

23 The word of the Lord came to me:“Son of man, there were two women, daughters of the same mother. They became prostitutes in Egypt, engaging in prostitution from their youth. In that land their breasts were fondled and their virgin bosoms caressed. The older was named Oholah, and her sister was Oholibah. They were mine and gave birth to sons and daughters. Oholah is Samaria, and Oholibah is Jerusalem.

So you are alright if a moslem misinterpreted the Quran and go around and kill people?

Soften the text and no people will need to die unnecessarily!

Did Allah command the REVISED UTHMAN EDITED VERSION of the Quran?

Ezekiel 16:25 (NIV) reads: "At the head of every street you built your lofty shrines and made your beauty abominable; you offered your body with increasing promiscuity to anyone who passed by."

This verse is part of a larger passage in Ezekiel where God uses the metaphor of an unfaithful wife to illustrate Israel's spiritual unfaithfulness and idolatry. The imagery is powerful and expresses the depth of Israel's betrayal and the consequences of turning away from God.

Hope, you went missing for so long, I thought you went to do Mu'tah... Big Grin
