Nearly nine in 10 Malaysians are concerned about the cost of living

The survey, conducted among 1,031 respondents – 59% of whom were working adults and 23% of whom were students – found that 89% were "very concerned" about the cost of living, in line with the increase in inflation rate from 2.5% in 2021 to 3.3% in 2022.  The majority (60%) said they were the most concerned about groceries and food prices.

Their Problem is similar to M'sian ringgit is based on USD just like Jap-Yen and SKorean won...
All kenna hammered by US upping their interest rate like no tomorrow to fight inflation since Biden became POTUS.

The only difference is Pinoy, Jap and Korean has "overtaken" Bolehlanders in GDP is because theses 3 are prepared to SELL BACKSIDES as part of the economy "support" from their American master..e.g. Allowing more US military "investments" in their territories.

I know - the same argument has been around for ages that SG is so tiny that we need their Water, Sand, Eggs, Chicken, vege and cheap labours....Yet, with all those natural advantages, why are Bolehland with their landed estates living on < S$150 per month of savings ?

As only 3% of its members can afford to retire according to EPF, there is a great deal of uncertainty affecting the long-run financial security of Malaysians in retirement.

During the Pandemic, M'sia has seen 4 rounds of withdrawals. And during each round, experts – as well as the EPF itself – warned that the measure could accelerate a retirement crisis in Malaysia. The country's the Ministry of Finance (MoF) reported that > half (58%) of EPF members under the age of 55 years old withdrew their money. It also revealed that 70% of EPF members aged 55 and below do not have sufficient funds to retire above the poverty level.
