Also Confucian is not a religion but way of life is practiced by various religious and non religious group.

Mountains, rocks, trees, the earth, the moon, the sun, the stars are physical evidence of the One God's existence & might who created them

Some ancient cultures started worshipping the One God thru these creations bcos it was not so easy to worship an invisible God, other than by looking at these signs in nature. But over time, it gradually evolved into worshipping mountains, rocks & trees. 

When European colonisers first stepped onto foreign land, they saw natives worship mountains, rocks and trees. They call it Animism. They might not hv fully understood that these people weren't necessarily worshipping spirits residing in these natural objects, but their Creator

For every community that existed across different time & place throughout 50,000 years of man's existence on Earth, God specified different practices & rites of worshipping Him. Ancient chinese people also had their own rites of worshipping the One God. But over time, these were gradually replaced by evolving beliefs infused with cultural practices.
