Its clear that there is a coruption of the word Salat in the quran which reffers to Allah doing the action,even hadiths confirm that Allah does Pray so there is evidence from the early muslims who spoke classical arabic that Salat cannot mean anything else but the prayer, You have many muslims here claiming Salat can mean mercy ,blessing and so on but in the Hadiths mohammed clearly made a distinction between salat(prayer), barrakah(blessing) according to this mutawatir hadiths.

Salam and salat are different.
Salat Which five daily prayers can be performed to Allah only

I will always refer to Christian scholars to understand the Bible. So I recommend you refer to our Muslim scholars to understand the Quranic verses.
